Hostler Burrows
Kim Hostler and Juliet Burrows founded their New York gallery Antik in 1998 and have consistently led the evolving market of Nordic design, championing and promoting the work of Scandinavia’s most prominent designers of the twentieth century. The gallery focuses on exceptional and unique examples of studio ceramics, cabinetmaker furniture and hand woven textiles by the master artisans and architects of the period.
After fourteen years in its TribeCa home, the gallery, which now bears the owners’ names – Hostler Burrows – has opened at its new location of 51 East 10th St., in the heart of one of New York City’s richest destinations for design and decorative arts.
For Design Miami/ 2012 the gallery features ceramic works by Axel Salto, Wilhelm Kåge and Birger Kaipianen, and selected furniture from the “Sandhamn” suite by the Swedish architect Axel Einar Hjorth.
