Ornamentum
Founded in 2002, Ornamentum exhibits a dynamic collection of contemporary jewelry as well as related objects and artworks. Ornamentum hosts numerous exhibitions yearly in their gallery space – one of the world’s largest – dedicated specifically to contemporary jewelry-artworks, where featured designer-artists display their work in conceptual installations.
Celebrating ten years this past summer, Ornamentum is wellestablished as a major force for introducing this exciting medium to new audiences, working to help build many of the world’s most significant public and private collections of contemporary jewelry and playing a pivotal role in numerous acquisitions of important works by key museums.
For the occasion of Ornamentum’s fifth presentation at Design Miami/, a salient collection of works will be introduced to this exclusive audience, including a Design Miami/ premiere of Swiss designer Johanna Dahm’s project “William Tell’s Shot”- a presentation of rings created by shooting through silver and gold bars or coins with a machine gun.
The exhibition also features a strong group of new and signature works, accompanied by a catalog created for this occasion, by German jeweler Gerd Rothmann, known for creating highlypersonalized works using the imprints of the finger or other body parts, often taken from the wearer or his/her loved ones.
